En el marco de MIA Photo Fair, que se celebra en Milan del 18 al 22 de marzo, presentamos un proyecto curatorial que reúne una serie de propuestas fotográficas en torno a la idea de transformación.
Cada fotografía propone una mutación que resiste la visibilidad inmediata. Se trata de desplazamientos mínimos, fracturas luminosas e íntimas en las que la identidad se disuelve, se recombina y vuelve a emerger sin necesidad de resolverse en una forma definitiva. La metamorfosis no aparece aquí como un destino, sino como un campo abierto de posibilidades.

Las obras reunidas no buscan ilustrar un proceso evidente, sino invitar a detener la mirada en lo imperceptible: aquello que se transforma silenciosamente dentro de nosotros cuando no estamos mirando. Desde esta perspectiva, la fotografía deja de ser únicamente un registro del instante para convertirse en un espacio de experiencia y resonancia.

Este proyecto sitúa al espectador en el umbral del lenguaje, en un territorio donde la transformación no se explica, sino que se percibe. En este terreno periférico, la fotografía abre un campo en el que la forma, el cuerpo y la mirada ensayan otras maneras de existir.

La propuesta curatorial reúne artistas cuyas prácticas dialogan entre lo visible y lo latente, explorando el potencial poético y conceptual de la imagen contemporánea. Presentada en una de las ferias internacionales más relevantes dedicadas a la fotografía, la selección ofrece a coleccionistas y profesionales del arte la oportunidad de descubrir obras que expanden el lenguaje fotográfico y proponen nuevas lecturas sobre identidad, percepción y transformación.

On the occasion of MIA Photo Fair in Milan (March 18–22), this curatorial project brings together a selection of photographic works that explore the idea of transformation.
Each photograph proposes a mutation that resists immediate visibility. These are minimal shifts—intimate displacements and luminous fractures—where identity dissolves, recombines, and re-emerges without the need to resolve into a fixed or complete form. Metamorphosis is therefore conceived not as a destination but as a field of possibilities.
Rather than illustrating an explicit process, the works invite the viewer to attend to the imperceptible: that which quietly transforms within us when we are not looking. From this perspective, photography moves beyond the act of capturing a moment and becomes a space of experience and reflection.
The project situates us at the threshold of language, where transformation cannot be explained but only sensed. In this peripheral terrain, photography no longer fixes an instant; instead, it opens a space in which form, body, and gaze rehearse other ways of existing.
Bringing together artists whose practices move between the visible and the latent, the exhibition explores the poetic and conceptual potential of contemporary photography. Presented within one of the leading international fairs dedicated to photography, the selection offers collectors and art professionals the opportunity to encounter works that expand the photographic language while proposing new reflections on identity, perception, and transformation.

En esta edición de ChAco, 2026 queremos que cada obra, concebida por diferentes artistas, se presente como una pequeña cápsula de mundos
propios. Buscamos proponer un territorio común, un espacio de encuentro donde los lenguajes figurativo y abstracto se interpelan mutuamente.
En cada pieza, lo figurativo despliega su capacidad de narrar y anclar la mirada en lo reconocible, mientras lo abstracto propone una experiencia sensorial y abierta, desafiando la necesidad de una interpretación literal.
Esta coexistencia de lenguajes no busca trazar fronteras, sino revelar la zona intermedia: ese lugar donde lo real se disuelve en sugerencia y lo imaginado cobra forma. Un territorio híbrido que celebra la pluralidad de miradas y la riqueza de convivir en el espacio común del arte.

In this edition of ChAco, we aim for each work, conceived by different artists, to be presented as a small capsule of its own world. We seek to propose a shared territory—a meeting space where figurative and abstract languages engage in a mutual dialogue. In each piece, the figurative unfolds its capacity to narrate and anchor the gaze in the recognizable, while the abstract offers an open, sensory experience that challenges the need for literal interpretation. This coexistence of languages does not seek to draw boundaries, but rather to reveal the in-between zone: a place where reality dissolves into suggestion and the imagined takes shape. A hybrid territory that celebrates the plurality of perspectives and the richness of coexisting within the shared space of art.
